Photography by Margie Gacki
May 22, 2011 – July 2, 2011
Opening Reception, Saturday, June 4th, 6-8 pm
This show will feature photography by Margie Gacki of Cumberland. The exhibit will feature Margie's photographs spotlighting Western Maryland - the natural beauty of the mountains and some of the area's popular attractions, including the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad's "Mountain Thunder" steam engine, Cumberland landmarks and the C&O Canal.
Margie became a member of Arts at Canal Place in the summer of 2010 after her position of 19 years as Medical Librarian of the Western Maryland Health System was eliminated at the end of June. She started her own company, Faith Productions of Cumberland after encouragement from her friends to do more with her photography. With all the natural beauty in Western Maryland, Margie is always looking for new places to visit and photograph to showcase this beautiful area.
Margie's work is available at the gallery in many formats: matted and framed photos, photos that are just matted, and note cards. For more information call Arts at Canal Place at 301-777-8199. Margie’s web site, www.faithproductionsofcumberland.com, offers many other items that feature her photography. Also on the web site are photo galleries with more of her images. Margie also offers a variety of photography services, including photographing special events, PowerPoint presentation design, image usage licenses, and more.
